Course: Anatomy & Terminology

Learners: Learners are diverse in terms of their age, nationality, race, and religion. Learners are predominantly female, and many speak English as an additional language.

Unit: Digestive System

Objectives: Locate the major organs of the digestive system and describe their structure and function. Describe common diseases, conditions, procedures, and treatment related to the digestive system.

Assessment Strategy:

READ: Chapter 6 Digestive System

WATCH: Videos on digestive system

REVIEW: Digestive system glossary

COMPLETE: Digestive System Crossword and Interactive Labelling of digestive system

DISCUSS: Diseases, conditions, procedures, and treatment related to the digestive system.

Assessment Strategy and rationale:

Students: Complete the quiz. It is for 35% of the final mark for this unit. Click on ‘submit’ at the end of the quiz.

Quiz 35% Aligns with the objective. Example: Multiple choice, fill in the blank, and labelling. At the right level of difficulty for the course.

Presentation on diseases and conditions 25% Students research a condition and share with other learners, therefore students learn from each other, learn how to find information which is an overall class objective, and reflect on their learning by peer-assessment and feedback on two presentations: 15%

Tests and procedures forum: 25%. Students learn from each other, learn how to find information which is an overall class objective, are encouraged to participate, and reflect on their learning by self-assessment.
